Pelosi trip to Taiwan unecessary, harmful

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan has shown just how much her trip was so ill-conceived.

Yes, she had every right to go, but there needs to be a better reason to go than just because she can.

She increased hostilities with China, which was not necessary. She has created another obstacle for the administration to overcome.

Pelosi accomplished little, if anything. There is no improvement in the U.S.-China relationship. There is no improvement in potential benefits for the United States. And, the trip was rather expensive. Having a convoy of eight jet aircraft to “guard” her airplane was just one of the many expenditures that did not have to be made.

I could go on, but Pelosi does not deserve more ink. I have never been a fan or supporter of her. Now, I am very glad that she will go away and fade into the smog of California in a few months. The thought of having a Republican as Speaker of the House (third in line for the presidency) is frightening. She has done nothing to prevent this happening, but rather she has increased the chances of a Republican speaker.

Pelosi’s farewell tours that have included Ukraine and Taiwan recently, have served only to feed her ego. She even got a sash that matched her suit while in Taiwan.

The Republicans should think of erecting a statue in her honor to be placed in front of the speaker’s rostrum in the House of Representatives. There is no holding the Republicans back and Pelosi has helped them accomplish a takeover.
