The Marysville Strawberry Festival Parade may have been grand and well-organized, but I would like to convey a couple negatives, if I may.
The first is the fact that the parade start time, after being advertised as 8 p.m., was changed to 7 p.m., and the times conflicted in two places in the paper on parade day.
The second is the fact that, though we live just one-and-a-half blocks from State Street on 4th, we were not allowed to get to our house down any side streets, even before anything was happening. We were told to park and walk home. Needless to say, there was no parking near the vicinity of our home. Even after the parade, we were detained at every street we attempted to travel to reach home. Three hours later, we finally were able to get to our house.
A simple solution would have been to check our identification to verify our address and watch us reach home (our house was visible from the barricaded areas). Hopefully, in the future, something can be done to correct both of the above problems.
