On Dec. 8 letter writer Jessica Sutton wrote “Abolishing the Electoral College would be democracy’s ideal, and isn’t that what we are supposed to be living by, a democracy?” No. We live by a Constitution that governs us based on a republic, not a democracy. We live in a republic. Can everyone get this straight? If you are going to argue a point, get the facts correct.
