Port Gardner Bay Music Society concerts offer talented locals

Everett has many things to be proud of and one of them is the Port Gardner Bay Music Society. They are the organization responsible for the Oct. 29 “Spooky Organ Music for Halloween” concert at the First Presbyterian Church of Everett.

Our city is fortunate to have exceptionally talented organist masters: D. Kim Croft, John Jorgensen, Karin Larsen, Gary Norris and David Spring. What a show! If you were there you know what I am talking about. If you weren’t able to attend you missed an outstanding concert that included music from the great masters and even selections from movies such as “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”

It was all very “spooky.”

As we learned, the mission of the music society is to encourage “local Everett talent right here in Everett” for you and me to experience and enjoy. The next concert is 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19 at the same venue “Let There Be Peace on Earth” will feature the Puget Soundwaves Brass Ensemble . Attendance is by donation only. You need not purchase advance tickets. How convenient is that?

I strongly encourage you to attend the next concert. What a beautiful way to kick off the holidays! Many more concerts are planned for the Port Gardner Bay Music Society’s 2023-24 season.

And, no, I was not paid to write this letter!
