Regarding the Monday article, “Taxed out of Trainland”:
I envision the Jazwieck property at 7800 Broadway a golden opportunity to develop a community complex in central Everett. It could be a cooperative effort of county, city, seller and neighbors … come one, come all.
Not only could it be a community gathering spot with park, meeting rooms and public swimming pool, but a new senior center as well … and with adequate flat-land parking for all. Provided that enough land is available, let’s include senior housing.
Do you see what I see? I’m relatively new to Everett so perhaps I’m not aware of the stumbling blocks. I do get this piece: Once these eight acres go to a developer, the green space can never be restored.
I welcome your comments. Perhaps we can put our heads together and come up with a solution.
