As I entered a Snohomish High School girls basketball game recently I noticed a familiar face waiting for the game to start. It was my kids’ principal. After spending the week sorting through all kinds of responsibilities at the high school, here was principal Diana Plumis, eating a piece of concession stand pizza and waiting for the game to start. Still dressed in her workday clothes, which by the way were very nice, she was taking a Friday night to support her students in yet another activity.
When most principals have had a long work week with students and could be at home putting their feet up, she was here for her kids. Just like so many other principals around our area and our country, they truly do care about all aspects of our children’s lives.
I am proud to have Plumis represent my kids in all areas of the educational life – including learning teamwork, both in the classroom as well as on a basketball court. So here is a big thank you to principal Plumis and all the terrific principals (and vice principals) who take their precious time to support our kids. My children are in great hands!
