Put it to a vote and live with results

I am sick and tired of hearing about the Ten Commandments. Why do we persist on pandering to this tiny population of fanatical atheists as if they were representative of our community? We live in a democracy, do we not?

Let’s have a vote. A general vote of all 100,000 Everett residents to see whether or not we truly care if the rock stays. If the majority says it should go, then I will be the first to dig it up. However, if the majority says it can stay, then I don’t want to hear one more word from anyone (especially anyone who does not live in Everett) about what our community can and cannot have. If 51 percent was good enough for George Bush then it ought to be good enough for God.
