Leave it to Ralph Nader to tell it like it is when everyone else pussyfoots around Boeing mismanagement (“Ralph Nader thinks the Boeing 737 Max is unsafe at any speed,” The Herald June 4). Even The Herald buries the article on a back page when every other article about the Max gets banner treatment.
The original 737 was built to load off a tarmac and should have been completely redesigned instead of needing an error prone “fix” to fly. Boeing adopted the failed McDonnell Douglas model of “professional” managers upon merger, getting away from engineer/managers as before. Their incompetence in decisions concerning engineering led to disasters in the Dreamliner program and now Max, and Ralph is exactly right, they should scrap the Max and resign in shame.
