Aaron Reardon says that county employees should take days off without pay, to save money for the county. If they are not willing to give up their workdays, Mr. Reardon will say they don’t understand how serious the situation is.
But I don’t think he understands how serious the situation is, because I don’t see him taking any days off without pay. He only talks about other people taking days off without pay.
Mr. Reardon, how about leading by example? Take a day off without pay every week for a month, and then ask other county employees to do the same. If you get behind in your job, no problem: you can work a little harder on the days when you do work, just like you want other county employees to do.
How about it? Are you going to force them to make sacrifices that you refuse to make, or are you going to earn their respect?
