Shame on you, Aaron Reardon, for expecting the lowest paid employees to keep the county afloat. (Monday article, “Court clerks face furloughs as threat of layoffs looms.”)
I’m giving back 4 percent of my salary each month and now you want more. Where’s your 4 percent of your $147,000 annual salary?
Maybe it’s true that you and all of the other elected officials in the county can’t write a check to the county coffer, but you all certainly can take a voluntary 4 percent pay cut. When pigs fly, right?
Furthermore, there are many regular employees who are not required to give up a portion of their pay. Come one, fair is fair and it starts at the top. Everyone should be giving their 4 percent, not just the lowest paid.
