Regarding the Friday letter, “Governor promotes shirking of duty”:
We are extremely proud of our Gov. Christine Gregoire.
The governor has the geographic insight and knowledge that apparently the letter writer does not possess. Washington state is also a border state. And given that Canadian authorities broke up a terrorist ring recently, we applaud that the governor opted to keep our National Guardsmen and women right here in Washington, protecting our border and our citizens from the very real threat of terrorism.
As citizens, this threat of terror on the Washington border is much more profound to us than the threat of people wanting in our country to work at jobs that no one else wants to do.
Thank you, Gov. Gregoire.
