Rules apply to all groups equally

Rep. John McCoy is to be congratulated for properly doing his job as manager of Quil Ceda Village by enforcing the rule against political demonstrations on that property.

Sheriff Rick Bart should be reprimanded for allowing his officers to demonstrate on private property forbidding it. He also should be censured publicly for his ignorant statements about being embarrassed and withdrawing his support for Mr. McCoy.

Bart is just another example of the bad things happening in this country today where rules only apply to certain groups but not law enforcement officials. Rules are rules. Most citizens try to abide by them. Why don’t Sheriff Bart and his office try it sometime?
