President Bush is not going to win this one. Too many people want Donald Rumsfeld out. Six retired generals have said he should be replaced. An “Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps Times” survey found that 57 percent of active duty members think that Rumsfeld should not keep his job (“Navy Times” page 50 March 6, 2006).
Why doesn’t the commander in chief get smart and replace the secretary of defense now and be done with it?
