I read Steve Tytler’s Sunday column about the mortgage fiasco and I agree that the financiers fudged to make loans.
What angered me was his statement that the mentioned person makes only $3,600 per month! I guess Mr. Tytler thinks it’s pocket change. That’s more than $20 per hour.
Does he realize how many people make a lot less than that?
I felt insulted and it spurred me to write.
I make $3,750 per month with a $200,000 mortgage and my payment is $1,527.60, about 51 percent of my income and yes, it is tough. Especially with rising gas prices.
I blame the county assessors who keep raising taxes in respect to the inflated home prices. As the market falters, and the value of my home dwindles, will my taxes reflect the same? I doubt it.
