It seems that those who should know better have come up with a slogan for our beautiful state, “SayWA.” It sounds like something a preschool teacher would say to a child. Like, SayPotty if you have to go, or SayMama, or SayPapa.
It is also sort of a demanding way of calling attention to our state. If we want people to visit, we must invite them with a phrase like “SeeWA.” That is like extending a hand as an invitation to visit our beautiful state and to include a visit to our major city, “See-attle.” I think a review of the “SayWA” slogan is in order and so does our governor as was indicated by her wry smile and the way she looked up, almost as if to say uh-oh, this just isn’t quite right, when she was asked about it in a recent TV interview.
