I just finished reading William Raspberry’s Monday column on “third places.” Many of us need our third places. If you can afford it, the country club fills that void. For me, the senior centers help to fill that void and I have met some wonderful, interesting people who have great stories to tell and with whom I can connect.
I’m going to miss William Raspberry’s column but I also want to take this opportunity to thank the Employee’s Community Fund of Boeing for their $40,000 matching grant for the Snohomish Senior Center.
We seniors need our third places which have now become our second places since most of us do not work at a paid job. I hope there are many in the community who would help us raise our $40,000 share.
