Shattering the myth of rich Republicans

It’s time people of this state learned the truth about rich people, taxes and Democrats. The greatest trick the liberals ever pulled was getting the public to believe that all Republicans are rich. There has been talk of making the rich pay their fair share of taxes. I agree. They should be paying much less in taxes.

The IRS data from tax year 1999 shows that the infamous “top 1 percent of wage earners” pays 37.42 percent of all federal income taxes, and the top 50 percent pays 96.09 percent of all federal income taxes. The liberals have people convinced that these people aren’t paying enough taxes. Liberals want tax cuts for the poor, when the bottom 50 percent already only pays 3.91 percent of all federal income taxes! And it doesn’t take much to fall into the top 50 percent of wage earners. For the tax year 1999, if you were an individual or couple filing jointly and earned over $26,000, you’re in the top 50 percent. There is an even greater disparity when you include Social Security and Medicare taxes.

The Democrats are the party of the rich. According to a Washington Times editorial, they got many more large donations than Republicans in 2002. Republicans got more money from small donors, while rich donors heavily favored Democrats.

Think about these facts the next time you hear hogwash about how the rich aren’t paying enough taxes.
