I don’t really care who our sheriff is. This is about Sheriff Adam Fortney’s decision to go to the media. He should have had shift briefings with our deputies about how to handle people who weren’t socially distancing. And perhaps creating some relationships with the public.
He made no mention of his concern about the health and well-being of our deputies, staff and their families. If he wanted to speak of the social issues that our deputies now more than ever are having to deal with, I’m all ears. But when people are dying without their families by their side. Our doctors, nurses, hospital staff, first responders, nursing/retirement homes staff, grocery workers and hundreds of volunteers are serving long hours and are going through trauma and lack masks and hand sanitizer. We need more people for contact tracing.
My advice to the sheriff is to stay in your own lane unless you have a degree in epidemiology. Perhaps you should just find a different job or start showing some professionalism. But above all wash your hands and wear a mask and take care of our sheriff department. This virus is not done controlling our lives.
