I would like to express my regret that it took the sheriff’s department so long to do anything about the puppy mill case in Arlington. At first, I wondered why neighbors hadn’t turned these people in before. I have learned that neighbors called the sheriff’s department years ago and continued to call.
Are we so afraid to offend people that we will stand by and let animals needlessly suffer? Why didn’t the sheriff’s department do their job years ago? They could have prevented the suffering of many dogs and cats. Those domestic animals couldn’t protect themselves; it is our job as caring and fellow-sentient beings to look out for them.
