Should we judge nation’s greatness by number of billionaires?

Lately in The Herald and on Facebook the Rambos with their machine guns and the selfish greedy capitalists are screaming victory again. The April 27 letter to the editor from Roger Miller tops it all.

That writer is the perfect example of Donald Duck’s rich uncle trying to swim in his pool full of gold coins. Enriching the rich. According to that writer it is way better to raise the nation’s deficit by giving tax cuts to the rich instead of helping the less fortunate.

I often asked myself why so many Americans are reluctant to see that especially in social democratic countries they have better solutions for some problems than here. Especially concerning education, gun control and affordable health care. A country is not great if it has a big military power or a lot of billionaires. A nation is great when it takes good care of its most vulnerable inhabitants and the future of our planet.

In the mean time these screamers do not know that we already have a lot of good social laws here and we need guys like Bernie Sanders to make it even better.
