For 30 years, David Simpson has served the citizens of Everett and Snohomish County — on the Everett Planning Commission, the Everett City Council, in the Legislature and on the Snohomish County Charter Review Commission. Everett needs this level of experience as we plan for the challenges of the 21st century.
Simpson will enter office ready to go right to work addressing issues of public safety, economic development and neighborhood empowerment. And, unlike his opponent, Simpson will not enter office indebted to real estate developers, bankers and big name car dealers.
If this were an auction, instead of an election, the race for Position 7 would be over. Simpson’s opponent, pharmaceutical Shannon Affholter, has already raised more money that any City Council candidate in the history of the city. The vast majority of that money comes from the economically and politically powerful, rather than working class Everett. Whose perspective do you think he will represent in Council Chambers?
David Simpson has a broad base of support among a wide range of Everett citizens. He represents our best chance of having someone in Position 7 who will represent all the citizens of Everett.
I am giving my endorsement, my vote, my time, effort and such little money as I can spare, to David Simpson. I recommend him to you as well.
