Six-months of work release unbelievable

I was shocked and appalled at the recent decision made in our court system concerning one Roy Hodges Haralson (“Child rapist avoids long jail term,” news story, May 8).

To drug and rape a 10-year-old girl is a most despicable crime. The horrific crime is only equaled by the decision made by our Snohomish County Supreme Court Judge Larry McKeeman and his cohorts to sentence Mr. Haralson to a mere six-months work release and a treatment program – it’s unbelievable. Is the any wonder that Mr. Haralson readily agreed to this sentence? If there is a repeat offense by this man, I hope that Judge McKeeman and his partners in this sentence are required to face the offended and explain their reason for this ridiculous sentence.
