This is in response to the May 31 front page story about the red light traffic cameras in Lynnwood.
What is the point in telling where these cameras are located, including a diagram? That’s stupid. Why couldn’t it have read something like, “Red light cameras will be at certain high-volume intersections in Lynnwood” or wherever?
The people who run red lights will just do so at other, undesignated intersections, just like they always do. They’ll just be more careful at those intersections with cameras.
If the police really want to catch these people, don’t publicize the locations. Just have law enforcement discreetly nearby, or in unmarked cars.
I see people run red lights all the time. It’s almost commonplace.
