I was so pleased to see the wonderful, heartwarming article on “Auntie Reaba.” (Nov. 25, “Surprise brightens woman’s holidays.”) She is not my relative by blood but she has been my auntie for over 50 years due to my friendship with her niece, Darla. I was honored to have gotten the call to come by the house. It was so inspirational to see a family come together for their beloved matriarch. There were 60 relatives over there working to make her wish happen.
Auntie Reaba is truly a blessing and I thank Scott Pesznecker for coming out to interview her and her wonderful family. I think it was great of The Herald to take the time to send a reporter and photographer and then to feature the story on the front page was “icing on the cake.” This proves that The Herald is involved with the community. Thank you again.
