Some timely how-to advice on a DIY indoor air-filter

For those readers without access to a filtered HVAC system, here is a cheap air-filtration system I have found to work very well in my wood shop. You need a 20-inch box fan ( less than $20) and two 20-inch square furnace filters. On the intake side of the fan mount a cheap (less then $5) furnace filter.

On the output side mount a high-quality HEPA filter (less than $20). Use a couple of wraps of tape or wire to secure the filters. This system operates best on the low or medium setting of the fan. After a couple of weeks of operation, what accumulates on the HEPA filter will make you glad its not in your lungs.
