In response to the Thursday letter advocating for another pool in Everett’s north end I would like to offer the following comments.
It is true there is a swimming beach at Silver Lake. Feel free to come and take a dip this weekend. Be careful, there are no lifeguards this time of year and hypothermia can set in pretty quick. If you prefer to wait for the warmer summer months, be sure to protect yourself from the friendly parasites that are looking for a host with skin suitable for burrowing.
Perhaps you would instead like to swim at the county’s pool at McCollum Park that you mention. Remember to bring some lock cutters. The pool is only open during the summer months.
Thornton A. Sullivan Park at Silver Lake is the clear choice for a new city pool!
