Stop one-party control in state; vote for GOP candidates

Striking union members booing Maria Cantwell’s blaming Trump for the high cost of housing was encouraging.

Washington has been a one-party state for decades. Try to name more than one Republican who’s held statewide office. One party controls policy and the budget. One party has made everything noticeably worse in this state, yet they have convinced voters for decades that Republicans are to blame and they, the ones responsible for our problems, are the only ones who can solve them.

By abandoning failed policies like a ban on police pursuits? No, they were forced to do that. Democrats promise to fix what they broke by doubling down on how they broke it and will raise taxes to do it. Washington voters have an historic opportunity to demand change. You have a solid middle-of-the-road candidate for governor in Dave Reichert. The other statewide offices have Republicans running that will offer a change from the failed finger pointing we’ve grown comfortable with. Data breaches, missing billions in taxpayer money, and a broken ferry system.

This is not the cost of government. This is the cost of one party, unaccountable leadership. Give the other party a chance this election.
