Stop unfair rules from taking effect

Attention all childcare providers and parents of children attending licensed home family child care homes. There is a new proposed draft of the Family Home Child Care state law available to view on the Internet. Please take the time to read it. Some of these new revisions are outrageous and violate our constitutional rights to the privacy of our own homes and the privacy of our own medical records. It also takes a lot of choices out of parents’ and providers’ hands and puts them into the hands of the state.

You can read it by going to the Web site www.dshs.wa.gov/esa/dccel. I implore you to take the time to read all 56 pages and then e-mail in your comments. You only have until Thursday to view and comment on them. I think a lot of daycare providers aren’t even aware this is happening. The Washington State Family Childcare Association is calling every provider in the state to help get the word out that this is happening. Please, as licensed daycare providers who love our jobs and provide quality care for our kids, let’s band together to stop this from happening.
