I just wanted to say great job in your coverage of the Burkheimer case. The stories were written and published in a way that provided maximum benefit to the family and the community. That was refreshing.
I believe that the victims and the families need and deserve more attention as they go through something like this. It also provides the community with a message that I feel is all to often missing. It tells the community, especially those at risk, exactly how devastating bad choices can be, how important it is to really pay attention to what and who is going on around you, how dangerous life can be if you choose to hang out with bad and dangerous people, and how badly your life can turn out if you don’t set positive goals for yourself and play by the rules.
The bad guys don’t deserve the attention. The public needs and deserves to know what’s going on (and you did that), but thanks for leaving out the sensationalism that usually focuses on the criminal.
Great job on the reporting, thank you! Could you please explain this tactic to the TV news and other papers?
