Support Sanders, the real populist

The Democratic presidential primary pits Sen. Bernie Sanders, a genuine populist candidate with decades of experience courageously speaking and acting on behalf of the majority of citizens, against an establishment candidate that everyone knows will not upset the status quo in Washington, D.C. despite the populist rhetoric she has decided to adopt for campaign purposes. Even union busting, minimum-wage reducing, “right to work” (for starvation wages) Republicans are claiming to care for the working class. That’s frightening! They know people want government policies that benefit average citizens. So a real populist should be a shoo in.

But not in our “democracy.” Sanders will have to fight part of the $2.5 billion Hillary Clinton has said she’ll raise! $2.5 billion! Regular people can’t afford this call girl.

Sanders is running as a Democrat so he will not be a “spoiler” if nominated. His power is in his message not his supporters’ money.

Don’t let the ultra-wealthy once again choose your candidate for you. Visit Sanders’ website. Make a small contribution. Put up some signs. Talk to your friends. Lose the fear and cynicism. For once, let’s put a people’s candidate on the ballot. Once there, he’ll win.
