Regarding the Wednesday article, “Hard times force a leader of Monroe’s Hispanic community to leave”:
I can sympathize with Mr. Robles and his having to move his family. I went through the same situation in the 1980 recession. I had a door and cabinet shop in Shelton I had to give up. Lucky for me I owned the building and could get some money out of that. I ended up taking an $8.50 an hour job in Bothell at a lumber yard. But a father does what he has to, to maintain his family.
Hang in there, Mr. Robles, we made it and so will you. If we ever get to Port Orchard, we will stop for a meal.
