I certainly hope our Snohomish County Assessor’s math is better than quoted in the June 3 article, “County property values jump.”
If the average house was appraised 21 pecent higher, then the average real estate tax increase is close to that because our property taxes are based on our home values.
In more than one instance, Cindy Portmann claims that your taxes won’t go up with increases in your assessed value – which is false. Maybe she was misquoted and really said your “tax rate” won’t change.
I’m starting to wonder if my land value increasing 43 percent was a result of the same fuzzy math.
