The trial of Bryon Scherf, convicted rapist and allegedly the self-admitted killer of Monroe Prison Corrections Officer Jayme Biendl, appears to be bogged down once again. (Friday article, “Judge steps aside in Biendl murder case.”) Multiple delays, urged by the defense attorneys, continue to impede the progress of this murder trial.
I realize that I am just a simple man. However, I can’t help but wonder if the billable hours submitted by the defense attorneys wouldn’t be a little less if these attorneys didn’t suckle at the teat of the taxpaying “John Q. Public.”
