Thankful Mugs is safe and sound

We almost had a disaster recently. As I was out back picking up leaves, our dog Mugs was sitting on the step by the sliding door. I was on the south side of the house, I turned around to see her, she was gone. I thought she went into the house; not to be. I went around the neighborhood frantic, looking for her.

Our neighbors two houses north saw me running around and asked me what was wrong. I said Mugs was missing. Pam and her daughter took off one way and me towards Eagle-Field Drive. We met at the intersection down on the corner when a lady stopped and asked if we were looking for a little brown dog. She told us it was up off Highway 9 and Eagle-Field in Arlington.

Vanessa (Pam’s daughter) ran like heck up to the highway as another lady in a car stopped and picked up Mugs. Vanessa grabbed her and ran back to us. Vanessa is a senior at Arlington High and a varsity volleyball player. So, needless to say, she’s in good shape. I certainly couldn’t have run that fast up there.

Mugs has always stayed by my side and it is hard telling why she took off. We do not know the name of the lady who stopped and picked her up, but we thank her so very much.
