In response to the Feb. 10 article “Hope for a sick child,” regarding my son Turner:
Turner has beat cancer twice in the last five years. He is currently recovering from a bone marrow transplant. Turner is doing well and his attitude is great. It is a very long road Turner and my family have in front of us.
My family has been overwhelmed with the support of our community starting in December when I held several bone marrow drives. I would like to thank the many people who have stepped up large for my family. The Electrical Union that I belong to has been awesome. There has been support from local unions and members all over the country. Ben Franklin and all its employees in Monroe where my wife works have been so supportive. The owner, Adrian, has been very helpful. Aleda Enright organized an auction in Monroe. All the volunteers who worked the auction. Thank you to Cascade Community Church for hosting the auction. Qual-Fab machine shop and president John Williams have been there for us since Day One. The Everett Silvertips and all the local businesses and individuals who donated to the auction. Our good friends and neighbors Jake and Kathy, who have been there for us always. I would like to thank my co-workers for all their support and heartfelt concern.
My 14-year-old son Tynan is wise beyond his age. He is an awesome big brother. Tynan has sacrificed many parts of his childhood without a complaint due to his brother’s illness. My wife, Kristi – never underestimate a mother’s love for her child. She is the best mother any child could ever hope for. When the chips are down she has a level head, her love and support for her children is unconditional.
Thank you everybody for your support.
