Please take advantage of volunteer visiting services offered for ostomy patients both before and following surgery. Visitors are trained, rehabilitated ostomates who are matched by type of ostomy, sex, and age with the new ostomate whenever possible. We desire to build the morale of the patient because we understand how important it is to talk with someone who has been through the same traumatic surgery. We do not give medical advice. Trained nurses are sorely needed now to work and teach in hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
The Snohomish County Ostomy Chapter prints “Insights,” a monthly newsletter, and meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the First United Methodist Church at 3530 Colby Ave. in Everett.
We would like to give a big “Thank you” to Providence Everett Medical Center for supplying a wonderful nursing staff of three trained wound and ostomy RNs and CETNs. Thank you, Sherry Marchi and staff! You are fantastic, critically needed and much appreciated.
