Thanks to sheriff, police for water rescue

My wife and I were among the thousands who planned to be at the Port of Everett for the Fourth of July celebrations. We launched our 25-foot sailboat and headed out. Much planning and prep went into our Fourth activities. But much like the fireworks, unforeseen events took over and we found ourselves with a dead motor just outside of Jetty Island and ended up on the rocks of Jetty Island.

The Sheriff’s Department and the Everett Police were there quickly to rescue us. They were absolutely professional, courteous, and stopped by our moorage several times to make sure were OK after towing us off the rocks and to guest moorage.

I cannot say enough about these men who were there for us in a very scary moment. They were absolutely magnificent! Thanks for being there for us! The flub of the Everett fireworks might have been disappointing, but the organizers still deserve our thanks for what was put together and for the Sheriff’s Department and the Everett Police who were on the job while we all celebrated.
