I appreciated the generous shoppers on June 16 at the ARF/PAWS benefit garage sale. Dozens of people helped me raise $750 to help lost and abused pets.
I also thank the people at the local Pet-Smart, PET-pourri stores, Camp Fire USA and Everett Animal Shelter volunteers for sharing so many things that went on sale that day. We washed dogs, sold hot dogs and shared in good fun with the whole community.
Each month in our city, lost and abandoned dogs and cats are euthanized. Our local shelter works hard to find homes for these animals. Dozens of people volunteer hours to clean, feed, treat and tend these creatures every week.
Thanks to everyone for a good day and for helping me extend our community’s care to needy pets.
