There’s a couple more TV studies out, perfect for stuffing under the Barcalounger seat for later reading.
It was reported that middle schools students who watch TV or play video games during the week do worse in school than students who don’t watch TV. And the more they watched, the worse they did.
A researcher not affiliated with the research, Douglas Gentile, said the findings should make it easier for parents to decide on TV rules. “One question all parents are going to be faced with (from their children) is, ‘Can I have a TV in my bedroom?’ There’s a simple two-letter answer for that.”
The other study tells us that the average U.S. home has more television sets than people. There are 2.73 TV sets in the typical home and 2.55 people. And the set is on for an average of 8 hours and 14 minutes.
