I think it is great that we now require the use of seatbelts. However, I think police officers can find better use of their time instead of pulling people over just for not wearing a seatbelt.
Why don’t they monitor busy intersections such as Casino Road and Highway 99 in Everett? I can’t tell you how many times I see several vehicles go through a red light because they don’t want to wait for the next one and then they end up blocking the intersection. I am not talking about one or two cars – I have seen as many as four or five and then when my light turns green I can’t go because these impatient drivers are blocking the intersection. How come I never see people getting pulled over for that? Law enforcement has time to drive around and pull people over for not wearing a seatbelt? What am I missing?
