Front page news must be pretty hard to come by these days based on the Saturday article in the paper about Snohomish County Sheriff Deputy Mike Anderson’s concern that going back to daylight saving time three weeks early is such a safety concern for the school kids. It was lighter out this morning at 7 a.m. than it is at 8 a.m. in December.
I would bet that at least 90 percent of the population, including kids, value the benefit of having the longer days in the evening to go home and get things done, for the health benefits of enhanced recreation and a return to outdoor living. There is no doubt that early daylight saving time is a good thing.
