Time for Mukilteo to end court challenges over Paine Field

Mukilteo Mayor Jennifer Gregerson, you have fulfilled your campaign pledge to block Paine Field progress. You have wasted money and you have wasted court time on frivolous suits. Since you like to sue, why don’t you sue Washington state for allowing the ferry causing such giant traffic congestion hourly to and from the dock; or ferries horn blasting after 10 o’clock at night or it banging the dock too hard. You could also sue the railroad company for being so noisy and too fast through the middle of town. Instead why don’t you pledge free lunches for poor children on no school days or more computers for the library.

The people of Moses Lake smile when the planes fly over their homes and the city. The people of Moses Lake smile when they see planes in the air because it helps their economy. They don’t complain, either, when Navy Growlers shake the house at ten o’clock at night. They know they are practicing for our protection.

I smile for a different reason. I’m pretty sure they are from my home town of Everett, where I lived for 50 years, and took flying lessons at Paine Field.

Can’t you see, after umpteen court rejections, you are losing the fight? Why don’t you concentrate on a positive project and be a winner? Paine Field is an asset to the community. Let’s keep it that way.
