Valley General Hospital has worked extremely hard to provide quality care and expanded services to the citizens of east Snohomish County while feeling the pressures of a rapidly growing service area. These demands will continue to grow.
Over the past decade, emergency visits have almost doubled (18,000 last year, alone); births were up 65 percent; and inpatient and same-day surgeries almost tripled. In addition, X-ray and MRI imaging services have reflected the largest impact with a staggering 380 percent increase. These are just a few examples of the strain that our ever-increasing population has placed on the facilities and services sought at Valley General Hospital.
Physicians and other health care providers must have adequate facilities and technology to continue to provide the quality care that we expect and deserve. Expansion of the existing facilities will not only insure this quality but will ply an important role in attracting and retaining excellent doctors, nurses and support staff for the future.
I am proud to be associated with the campaign to expand Valley General Hospital. Regardless of your voting preference, at the polls or by absentee ballot, invest in your community hospital – vote yes.
