After reading a commentary in The Herald recently, I have had what feels like a profound realization.
Megan McArdle was going on about how unrealistic the Green New Deal is and how much it will cost (“Green New Deal’s ambition will drive away support,” The Herald, Feb. 10). She compared it to finding a cure for cancer in the next 10 years with funding from a 15 cent per dose (of what, I do not know.)
While reading this piece, I realized the difference between Republicans and Democrats: the D’s are the dreamers (hello, John Lennon) and the R’s are more financially pragmatic.
We do need both.
