In regard to the Nov. 30 letter, “Election results: Bush fears only theft”: The writer, like Gov. George W. Bush, would be happy to stop the count at a convenient time, one when Bush is ahead. Now we find out Republican electoral officials let Republican workers tamper with and alter thousands of votes in two counties, allowing them to be counted.
Along with all the other issues in dispute, one thing is obvious – the Florida vote is a disgrace to our country and should be carefully scrutinized to determine the true winner after resolving all issues. No one should be inaugurated until this is accomplished.
Didn’t the last Miami mayoral election get tossed out due to massive fraud? A quick solution is not the proper course; only a timely count with equal criteria for all votes is fair, especially as the entire election hinges on this.
I don’t care who ultimately wins, but no candidate should be running our country without the nation’s complete confidence and backing.
