Don Thompson of Lake Stevens in a recent letter to the editor complains about “relentless and ruthless” attacks on the sitting president. What about the sitting president’s relentless and ruthless attacks on our democracy?
He says “let the process play out as we did in 2000 and 2016.” In neither of those elections did the loser contact elected state officials of their own party and ask them to disregard the will of the voters. In both elections, as soon as the results were certified in 2000 or called in 2016, the loser called the winner to congratulate him and to concede their loss.
Mr. Thompson, accept reality: There was no systemic fraud. Your candidate lost.
