President Trump is seeking 50 percent of all state owned mineral, oil and natural gas in Ukraine as payment for military and economic support given to Ukraine during the Russian-Ukraine War. If granted such a request, the one rich resource President Trump would not be able to remove from Ukrainian soil is the blood of the Ukrainians, men, women and children who have died since Russian President Putin’s invasion.
After the American Revolutionary War, the American ally King Louis of France did not ask for 50 percent of American-owned underground minerals and natural resources.
After World War II, two American generals, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Secretary of State George C. Marshall led the effort to rebuild Europe; both the allies and the defeated powers were cared for. Both the winners and losers were cared for. Nothing was asked for in return. There was no demand for 50 percent of minerals, oil or gas.
Neither Eisenhower as president nor Marshall as Secretary of State asked for 50 percent of the natural resources of any country in rebuilding Europe. Marshall won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. Today’s Secretary of State insists the current U.S. President would win the prize if he were a Democrat.
The American public knows the value of blood that cannot be removed from the ground. and a sense of duty and honor outweighs a sense of politics or economic profits.
