Driving home from Everett yesterday on Highway 526 at dusk, I was confronted with the latest in roadway mayhem: a group of six to 10 motorcyclists weaving in and out of traffic, exceeding the speed limit (by a lot, in my opinion), and doing wheelies as they sped west. They turned at 84th Street SW and headed down the hill into Mukilteo, ignoring other cars and traffic signals, running through business driveways and otherwise harassing anyone in their way.
Has it really come to this? Mad Max Road Warriors taking over our highways? I expect natural selection will probably weed out some of these riders, but woe to those who witness the weeding or are injured in the process by these amoral individuals who think it’s a good idea to run around mostly on their rear wheels.
Just one more issue for our first responders to deal with; kudos to the Mukilteo Police Department for reportedly catching one of them.
