Washington a great place to visit

My wife and I just returned home from our first visit to Washington, and we wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the area and the people we met.

Our reason for coming was to attend Skate America, but we decided to take extra time to play tourist. Skate America was well organized and well run. The committee and local merchants did a good job. The local resturants near the Comcast Arena were very accommodating — especially Tailgater Joe’s and ChopStix.

We stayed at the Town Place Suites in Mukilteo and can honestly say we have never been treated better, even in more upscale hotels. This concern extended from the housekeeping staff to the management. One day when I was trying to recover from a cold, I received a call from the head of housekeeping asking if I would like some soup or if there was anything I needed from the store. A few days later the same person placed a call to the Olympic Peninsula to check the weather conditions for us.

Finally, even the TSA personnel at the airport were much more friendly and considerate than we have encountered elsewhere. Everyone made us feel welcome and made us want to come back.
