The letter writer from Marysville (“What’s really to blame for plastic pollution in oceans,” The Herald, Dec. 27) will hopefully climb out of the mental fog in which he or she resides. Or is he simply joking? Plastic doesn’t pollute; people do. Really? Just like guns don’t kill, people do. I imagine this Marysville resident spending much of his waking hours trying to answer the question, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?”
Logically speaking it seems that this deep thinker would espouse getting rid of humans in order not to pollute or to shoot people. I hope we both agree that elimination of the human race is not an option, and neither is continued pollution with plastic or gun violence. Keeping in mind logical thought, reason would suggest that people work to find ways to control, even with the hope of eliminating pollution from plastic and gun violence.
